Basic Massage Modes
Using two or four firm rubber massage heads, the Panasonic Swede-Astu Wave massage chair accurately simulates stroking with the palm of hand, pressing with the heel of the hand, kneading with thumbs and pressure with thumbs. It also covers a total of 135 square inches - including the neck, shoulder and back. There are eight different massage modes in all:
Kneading - A gentle in and out motion using four massage heads. This function is especially effective on your neck and shoulders. Try both kneading modes for a different kneading pattern and sensation.
Rolling - Muscles are gently stretched as the massage heads move up and down along the back. When "regional" is selected the heads will move in a 4-inch range. When "full" is selected, the heads will move in a 27-inch range.
Tapping - Invigorating sensation of hands rapidly tapping on your back muscles. Try both tapping modes for a different rhythm.
Swedish - Rhythmically kneads using four rollers with the sensation of palms gliding over the skin; recommended for loosening up large areas of the back
Shiatsu - Strong deep-tissue pressure and stretching using two massage heads.
Compression - Firmer rubbing motion across the back. Two modes are available.
Hawaiian - Gentle rubbing motion across the back.
Percussion - Deep-pressure massage that stimulates acupoints. |
